With the festive season taking shape barely a week into December, political aspirants and physiotherapists have taken advantage of the Covid-19 open-up to engage the youth Kenyans in various socio-economic activities.

Even as country’s football governing body continues to remain under questionable character, several football lovers have seemingly not given up with developing needy talents.

In Kakamega County, Senator Cleophas Malalah continues to rock the ground with his Malala Super Cup, that has over 180 teams participating to win the coveted Ksh1,000,000.

A similar thing has been adopted by Webuye West Constituency resident Dr. Phillip Mwangale whose football tournament has similarly appeared to give Mwangale an admirable political mileage.

Despite attracting the interests of Jonathan Kane, Kelly Walubengo and Steve Biko against the incumbent Dan Wanyama, Dr. Phillip Mwangale is likely to rip from his football tournament which has given him great publicity in the stands.

Currently a resident of Orlando Estate in Florida, United States of America and a doctor by profession,
Dr. Philip Mwangale Wanyama was born and raised in a humble family in the Bukusuland.

Born in 1986 in Webuye town as the third born son of Mzee Peter Enoch Wanyama and the late Mama Jane Wanyama, Dr. Wanyama attended Webuye SA Primary School before missing an opportunity to join Friends School Kamusinga due to lack of school fees.

“Life was tough for me and my family, I saw a wasted chance after failing to join the giant school; everything had varnished into thin air,” narrates.

Despite the challenges, he went ahead to pursue his studies and later relocated to the US.

Having experienced the life in the US, Dr. Mwangale seem to have found a motivation to vie for the Webuye West parliamentary seat.

“I am declaring my candidature for Webuye West Member of Parliament seat so that I can empower Youths so that they don’t go through the hardships I went through to become whom I am today,” he clarified.

Currently, Dr. Wanyama’s football tournament is heading to the Semi-Finals with teams targeting to win the prize money of Ksh2,000,000 and other add-ons, the highest prize tag in the area so far.

So far, Compel FC will face it out with vs Mahanga FC on 26th December which will be a boxing day.
