After a month of tactical displays, corners, free kicks, counter attacks as weĺl as free headers, the Mwangale Supercup Finals will be held on Boxing Day.

The tournament, which aims to empower the youth and nature talent in Webuye West Constituency, Bungoma County, attracted 16 teams pooled into four as follows;

POOL A
1. Lugulu FC

4. Misikhu utd
5. Green stars

POOL B
1. Compel FC
2. Matulo Bombers
3. Kingsland
4. Homeboys FC
5. Flyover FC

POOL C
1. Miendo FC
2. Juakali FC
3. Mahanga FC
4. Matisi FC

POOL D
1. Nakhwana FC
2. Bukunja Ngabo

With each team targeting to win the prize money of Ksh2,000,000 and other add-ons, it’s only Compel FC and Mahanga FC that booked their tickets for the grand final on 26th December, 2022.

The winner of the Mwangale Supercup tournament will bag a whooping Ksh250,000 while the finalist will pocket Sh100,000.

The 3rd and fourth teams will get Sh75,000 and 50,000 respectively.

This allocation makes the Mwangale Supercup the most expensive one to be funded by an individual in Bungoma County so far.

Speaking to this publication, Dr. Phillip Mwangale, who is also seeking to become the next legislator for Webuye West, affirmed that Bungoma County Governor Wycliffe Wangamati will be the Chief Guest on the Boxing Day from 10.00AM.

“This is a big tournament to nature and empower youth talent in my area and I’m humbled that H.E Governor Wycliffe Wangamati will be our Chief Guest,” said Dr. Mwangale, an Intensivist working in Texas, USA.

“We encourage many fans to turn up but observing Covid-19 guidelines.”

So far, all the uniforms for the two sides have undergone final production and branded fully branded, awaiting the big day.

The finals will be held at Maulo Girls High School.
