Fwamba NC Fwamba has heeded to pressure from his supporters and joined the tough Nairobi gubernatorial race.

During his stay in office as a student leader, one of his key achievements was pushing for the increased allocation of HELB.

Fwamba was earlier on expected to vie on a Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) ticket due of his relationship with CS Eugene Wamalwa but has now revealed he will use the Jubilee Party as his vehicle. Both DAP-K and Jubilee Party support the Azimio la Umoja movement that is led by Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga.

INTELLECTUALLY EQUIPPED

According to governance experts, Fwamba’s entrance into the Nairobi race is a game changer. He is a quintessential man ready to change Nairobi for posterity and good governance. He is the right man for Nairobi because he is intelligent, well-read and astute.

One cannot but agree that Fwamba is equipped with a compendium of knowledge in leadership. He possesses a lot of characteristics in common with most leaders who have previously shaped our country positively.

Some of these characters include respect, humility and condor. These attributes are the real litmus test of a good leader. Fwamba has an unquenchable passion for the people of Nairobi to live in a clean city, get affordable but quality healthcare and be able to send their children to affordable but good schools.

Having worked in both public and private sectors, Hon Fwamba brings to the table a “Tsunami” of experience.

While working in civil society, he successfully agitated for human rights that were later entrenched in the 2010 constitution. He was also the political mainstay during the Kibaki campaigns in 2007.

DEVOLUTION CHAMPION

As a vibrant youth leader, he successfully steered the “Yes” campaigns for the 2010 Constitution that was promulgated by former President Mwai Kibaki.

As far as the battle for Nairobi gubernatorial race is concerned, Fwamba is not a new player. In 2013, he was the late Mutinda Khavemba’s running-mate on a Wiper Ticket.

Being a man of impeccable character and passionate convictions, he was one of the key strategists of the Jubilee Party in the 2017 General Elections under the Mbele Iko Sawa lobby where they traversed the entire country.

While working at the Ministry of Devolution as special advisor to Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa, Fwamba was in charge of Kenya Devolution Support Programme. Under this docket, he gained a deeper understanding of how devolution works.

He gained experience by interacting with all the 47 counties. As a result, he amassed a wealth of experience on how to run government.

Hon Fwamba is currently working as an advisor to the Cabinet Secretary for Defense, Eugene Wamalwa. At the moment, he is also working towards the completion of his MBA at the University of Nairobi.

VISION FOR NAIROBI

Fwamba has a vision for Nairobi. Among the key objectives he plans to implement when he takes over at the helm are:

  • To apply and introduce the best practices that’ll make good utilization of the people’s commonwealth by eradicating the cartels at City Hall.
  • Make a law that will encourage and promote rail water harvesting as a way to end water shortage in Nairobi.
  • Develop modern drainage system across the City to mitigate floods menace in Nairobi. It is through good drainage system that roads will last long.
  • Give first priority to the affairs of widows, widowers and orphans when distributing bursaries.
  • Start elaborate school feeding programmes to support children from needy families.
  • Develop proper transport policies that will help decongest the city and minimize traffic jam in the city. It includes supporting and promoting the BRT system, as well as introducing the light rail system within the Nairobi Metropolitan.
  • Protect informal settlement or slam dwellers from malicious displacement by land grabbers popularly known as private developers.
  • Encourage talent development among the youth through sports and entrepreneurship by establishing more social halls

As we inch closer to the D-day of the General Election in August 2022, I can only hope that Nairobians will seize the opportunity of the ballot to redirect the course of the history of Nairobi County by electing governor Fwamba.

What Nairobi needs more than ever is a visionary leader whose cross-sector support, resilience in the face of obstacles, singularity of focus and bipartisan efforts will raise and put Nairobi on the path of progress again.

H.E. Fwamba NC Fwamba – the gubernatorial candidate of Jubilee Party today represents the face of change. He is widely acclaimed at national levels having the ability to possess the Midas touch that will ensure growth and speed the growth of Nairobi.
