Bungoma County Woman Representative aspirant Naliaka Waswa has pledged to support Dr. Reginalda Wanyonyi after the Democratic Action Party of Kenya handed her the nomination certificate.

Speaking to WakajuanessLive.Com, the 37 year old said she is ready to shelve her ambition and support the party’s choice despite the pending nomination shedule.

“My opponent was handed the nomination certificate in her house as we were waiting for date for the date of nominations,” regretted Waswa.

“But I accept the party choice and I am ready to support her and the party to ensure the party gets the Woman Representative seat.”

Naliaka, who has been working with Radio Africa for nearly a decade, had expressed confidence that she would clinch the seat because of her appealing track-record both in her profession and charity activities.

Naliaka was welcomed to DAP on February 15th 2022, by Defense CS Eugene Wamalwa, who promised her of transparency as well as encouraging her to inspire more masses to join DAP.

Dr. Reginalda, who was Bungoma’s first elected Woman Rep on the then New Ford Kenya ticket, failed to defend her seat in 2017 when she lost to Catherine Wambilianga with a margin of nealy 200,000 votes.

However, our efforts to verify whether the party had issued a direct nomination certificate to Dr. Reginalda as claimed by Waswa were unsuccessful as the party leadership was unreachable for comments.

She has a hard task to unseat Wambilianga, who is fronted by the Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula.

Other aspirants in the race include: Maria Nato who also joined DAP a few days ago, Nancy Kibaba, Roselinder Simiyu and Rebecca Masibayi.
