The Jubilee Party is relying on Blogger Edward Wamalwa Simiyu popularly known as Edduh Simiyu to bag the Township ward legislative seat.

The iKUWEiKUWE Movement founder was handed the ruling party’s tickets through a consensus.

Confirming his nomination, Mr. Simiyu thanked the party for giving him an opportunity to fly its flag in the Township Ward located in the heart of Bungoma County.

“I’m deeply honoured to get this nomination. I will ensure that I help the Jubilee party achieve its target,” wrote Simiyu on his personal news blog, ikuweikuwe.com.

The Blogger also went ahead to thank his competitor on the ticket, Gift Yona Kisaka, for the challenge, saying the decision on his nomination was for the interest of the party.

Edduh, who is planning to launch his campaign next week, is seeking to unseat veteran Joseph Maguda of Ford Kenya.

Maguda is seeking a fourth term in office but residents may wish to experience a change in leadership.

Edduh Simiyu is remembered for his passionate drive for blood donation, having raised over 1,000 units of blood throughout his campaign.

If elected, Blogger Edduh has promised accountability and dedicated oversight role at the Bungoma County Assembly.

Township Ward has 22,000 registered voters with IKUWEiKUWE hoping to garner as much as possible to win the election.

Other aspirants in the race include Kassim Mohamed of ODM and Yona Kisaka who has reportedly opted to vie as an Independent candidate.
