Two children who had been stranded after sitting for their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in Bungoma County can now comfortably enjoy their lessons, thanks to a well wisher.

Just when Hosea Kasili Wekesa, who was top student at Ben Kapten Primary School with 378 marks was about to give up joining his dream school, a well wisher popped up to his rescue.

Hosea, who had not managed to buy all the required items to join Nalondo C.B.M National Special School in Kabuchai Constituency, saw locals link him to an aspirant in Webuye West who helped the minor join the school.

“I tried to reach some aspirants to save the situation. Luckily enough, Hon. Eddy Omumaraki responded and bought a metal box for him,” said Mr. Evans Maloba, the Chairperson of Bokoli Ward Elites.

I appreciate for a quick response. At the moment we are only lacking sport rubber shoes, bedsheets and less with Ksh3,000 for the school uniform.”

The young and ambitious Hosea was a successful applicant of Wangamati Scholarship Programme, meaning, the fees is catered for.

The locals thanked Governor Wycliffe Wangamati’s panel for selecting Hosea and Mr. Omumaraki for the quick response, urging other well wishers to chip in and help the student achieve his dream.

Hosea has now been admitted at Nalondo C.B.M National school and catching up with his studies.

Hosea may not have been the only beneficiary of Omumaraki’s helping hand as Amos Wanjala Wangila who scored a mark less than Hosea in the same exam but at Maloo Primary School in Bokoli ward, also joined Chewoyet High School in West Pokot after struggling to get upkeep funds.

His mother, Ms Betty Wangila, was already burdened with four other children in various high schools, thanked Omumaraki for assisting his child with pocket money and transport.
