On May 30, 2022, Mizani Africa released results of a purported survey on the gubernatorial race in Bungoma alongside other Counties. In the survey, they put Lusaka of Kenya Kwanza Alliance at 53.6 per cent ahead of Wangamati who scored 43.2% and Zack Barasa at 2.2%. The undecided was 1.1% in what puts the total score beyond 100 per cent (53.6+43.2+2.2+1.1=100.1%)! Hehee!
On Thursday, June 16, 2022 or 17 days later, they released results of a supposed follow up poll putting Lusaka at 57.9 per cent and Wangamati at 35.0 per cent.

This latest survey is the third on Bungoma since Mizani Africa started their “polling” scandal this year. On March 25, they released a survey that put Lusaka at 40.5 per cent and Wangamati of Azimio coalition under DAP-K ticket at 36.1 per cent. Zack Barasa came in a respectable third with 15.3 per cent.
Lusaka had a 6-point lead in the first poll, 10-point lead in the second poll and a 22.9-point lead in today’s poll, 17 days later.
Lingering Questions:
(1) What has Lusaka done between then and now to account for his numbers? Not even his closest friends can tell. In fact, goodwill, his only hope in this race is fast depleting each passing day.
(2) What has Wangamati done between then and now that could be affecting him? The biggest and everybody reference point was the award of scholarships to 7,000 families. Was it such a bad idea that people are punishing him for it? Hardly.
(3) In another telling scenario, long before Mizani Africa made public these particular results, Lusaka’s team were already publishing them a day to. How did Lusaka, a party to this survey may be, access the data days before its official release? Was he given before hand to sanction whether the score given was agreeable?
Webuye East Constituency
On May 30, Mizani Africa put Mr. Martin Pepela aka ‘Investor’ (Ford Kenya party, Kenya Kwanza) in the lead with 23.3 per cent followed closely by Ms Carol Buyela (Jubilee Party, Azimio) at 20.0 per cent. Dr Wanjala Iyaya of DAP-K (also in Azimio) came third with 16.7 percent while Evans Murumba came in 4th at 15.7 per cent.
Today, just 17 days later, Investor skyrockets to 46.7 per cent and Caro Buyela drops to 4th place with 8.3 per cent. Did she resign from the race or how does one explain the abnormal shift in numbers?

Still on Martin Wanyonyi Pepela, the same clueless Mizani Africa have ranked him as a candidate both in Bungoma Constituency and Webuye East in the same year. Hilarious!

In the recent poll, Mizani drops Martin Wanyonyi from the Bumula race and returns him to Webuye East to lead, as seen in their tweet below:

Tongaren
On May 30, Dr David Eseli (DAP-K, Azimio) polled 40.6 per cent with a 15.6 per cent lead against Chikati’s 25.0 per cent. In Today’s poll, 17 days later, Mizani Africa simply swapped the same results between the two leading candidates.
In the latest poll, Dr Eseli was given Chikati’s score of 25.0 per cent as Joyn Chikati (Ford Kenya ), took over Dr Eseli’s score of 40 per cent and an extra 5.4 percent. Just what has Chikati done in just two weeks to zoom past the incumbent Eseli in this manner? Data science cannot explain this. Only witchcraft can.

Kanduyi
On May 30, Mizani Africa gave former MP Alfred Khangati (ODM, Azimio) the lead with 42.7 per cent. The incumbent, Wafula Wamunyinyi (DAP-K, Azimio) came in second place at 33.5 per cent. Former Bungoma County Assembly Speaker, Mr. John Makali (Ford Kenya, Kenya Kwanza) came in among others at 0.9 per cent.
On Thursday, June 16 or 17 days later, according to Mizani Africa, John Makali resurrected from the others and zoomed past all candidates to perch at 39.5 per cent while Khangati dropped to second place with 22.5 per cent and Wamunyinyi to third place with 19.5 per cent.

Such movements are only possible as witchcraft and not data science. A research firm worth its name will invest a little more intelligence in their propaganda. What we have at Mizani Africa which is believed to be owned by the wife to Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro of UDA, are but a bunch of amateurs whose lies cannot stand scrutiny.
Except for Jack Wamboka and Waluke, this poll places Ford Kenya candidates first and UDA where a Ford Kenya candidate is either extremely weak or missing. Even the weakest candidates on Ford Kenya are placed first.
Sirisia parliamentary candidate on ODM ticket Mr. Moses Nandalwe has dismissed the poll as “cooked up figures” designed to excite Kenya Kwanza in Bungoma.
“I don’t necessarily support Wangamati but any poll that implies the incumbent’s popularity is only half of Lusaka’s is a bad joke that should be ignored,” said the moneybag, in a telephone interview with WakajuanessLive.Com.
“This Mizani poll results was only meant to drive a propaganda narrative that Ford Kenya and Kenya Kwanza is doing magically well in Bungoma, which is not the case.”

Mr. Nandalwe also laughed at Mizani’s listing of a one Mr. Bonventure Wabwile Wasikoyo who is vying as MCA in Kimaeti ward ahead of parliamentary candidates in Bumula as the tell-tale signs of poorly executed propaganda.

Reached for comment, Ms Buyela rubbished the poll, saying figures are cooked to promote the UDA and Kenya Kwanza agenda.
“These polls are purely propaganda and I want to urge my supporters to ignore such figures and focus on voting for me on August 9, 2022,” she said.
