Women across Kanduyi Constituency in Bungoma County have rallied behind the incumbent Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi.

Speaking at Westgate Hotel in Bungoma town, the women league stated that the DAP-K Party Leader has shown resilience in his fight against cartels in the agriculture sector.

The more than 600 women drawn from township ward promised to continue rallying their colleagues in re-electing Mr. Wamunyinyi.

“Our MP has left a mark in the education sector. This is beyond our imagination. We cannot gamble with the lives of our residents with untested leaders,” said a woman identified as Agnetta Khisa.

On his part, Mr. Wamunyinyi vowed to empower the women groups, stating that women play a huge role in the society.

“I appreciate the role our mothers and daughters are playing in the society and this is why I have all these good plans for you,” said Mr. Wamunyinyi.

Wamunyinyi also drummed support for the Azimio Presidential candidate Raila Odinga and the Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati, saying the region is in safe hands under the duo.

Wamunyinyi, who was accompanied by Deputy Governor Prof Charles Ngome, former Woman Rep Dr. Reginalda Wanyonyi amongst other aspirants, vowed to ensure that Mr. Odinga bags the Presidential seat which he said, will be a big win for the people of Western.

“We have been lead by conmen who hawk us to the highest bidders and we are no longer going to be used. Raila will sort all our woes”

Wamunyinyi also thanked the women for acknowledging his efforts to promote the sugar bill saying that the revival of the ailing sugar industries in Kenya will boost the economy of the people of Bungoma.
