A section of the Tachoni community leaders and residents have asked the former Webuye East ODM parliamentary candidate Mr. Aggrey Murumba Namisi to seek truce with Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula and vie for senatorial seat as Wetangula eyes the national assembly speaker post.
Mr Namisi, a Bungoma East KNUT secretary general vied for the Webuye East Mp seat on an ODM party ticket but lost to Ford Kenya’s Mr Martin Wanyonyi Pepela.
In an interview with Journalists in Webuye town on Sunday, the leaders, drawn from Webuye East Constituency, stated that seeking a handshake with the Ford Kenya leader will enable him to clinch the impending by election if Mr. Wetang’ula relinquishes his seat for the National Assembly Speaker post if the Kenya kwanza government pact promise is honored.
“We want to urge our son Mwalimu Namisi to seek audience with Senator Wetang’ula and get a Ford Kenya ticket to vie in the Bungoma County Senatorial by election and have a Tachoni senator since the governor Ken Lusaka is a Bukusu, ” said Mr Wafula Sakwa from Mihuu area.
The leaders added that Mr. Namisi failed to clinch the Webuye East Parliamentary seat because Azimio had fielded more candidates than their Kenya kwanza opponents, giving Mr. Martin Pepela Wanyonyi of Ford Kenya a free ride.
If successful, Namisi’s days will just top up the joy he has received from family after his children sponsored him to a holiday in Dubai.
One of his daughters told this publication that they decided to take their Dad to enjoy holiday in Dubai to switch his mind off from the tedious electioneering period before he embarks on the Senatorial race.
Reached for comments, the former Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) branch Secretary said he appreciates the voice of his people and will do what they want.
“I have been receiving a lot of pressure from my supporters to seek for Senator Moses Wetang’ula’s blessings for the Bungoma Senatorial seat in the upcoming by election. I will not betray my people, ” said Mr. Namisi.
