Kenya’s Industrialisation Permanent Secretary has challenged local investors to consider modern industries and technology as a way of boosting social-economic sector.

Speaking to West Media’s vernacular Mumbo FM in Bungoma town, Dr. Mukhwana stated that President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government is heavily determined to support local industries, asking locals to invest in local productions.

Dr. Mukhwana, who was recently appointed to his current responsibilities, decried the poor attention that locals give to their fellow locally-priduced products, saying that foreign products are maiming the Kenyan market.

“We have an issue of adoring the foreign imports than our own and this is killing most of our local industries,” said Dr. Mukhwana.

Dr. Mukhwana, who hails from Bungoma County, assured the residents that the Ruto government will provide a conducive environment to all the locals who wish to invest in the local sector.

The progress, he said, will then boost the job creation not only in Bungoma but also across the country.

Dr. Mukhwana also challenged locals to emulate the Wa Ingo Millers Ltd that has set up a flour production factory within Bungoma town CBD which is currently producing 300,000 KGs of “unga” per day.

In the spirit of showing commitment to the Industrialisation sector, Dr. Mukhwana hailed Governor Kenneth Lusaka’s move to donate 100 acres of land to the Industrialisation sector in Bungoma County, which, if well- utilised, will create thousands of job opportunities.

The academic giant also assured locals that the national government will continue to partner with developed units in order to improve the economic muscles across the country.

On the issue of maize production, Dr. Mukhwana, hosted by veteran journalist Kituyi Khwa Simiti, challenged farmers to avoid selling their products at a throw-away price that later comes to haunt them.

“Our farmers should avoid the temptation of selling our farm products at a throw-away-price, which has totally caged the livelihood of our people,” he added.
