Bungoma Superstars FC displayed a ruthless outing against a helpless Bondo United at Bungoma High School Stadium in the FKF Division One League.

In a mighty display meant to send warnings to any upcoming opponents, acting coach Francis Juma’s hungry side fired from all cylinders to cripple the Siaya-based side in an exciting match that left the home fans cheering for more.

The hosts started on a high note and nearly got rewarded in the seventh minute when Daniel Juma narrowly missed to divert Ezekiel Juma’s free kick from the left edge of the box, letting the ball to sail past the face of the posts for a goal kick.

Dada refused to make a similar mistake when another chance emerged, tapping the same Ezekiel’s free kick into the far post, a header that raptured the atmosphere for the home side.

Despite fighting a flue for two days, Dada stayed gallant to guard his opener and kept the visiting backline in panic mode.

However, the veteran forward signaled for a substitution, determined but genuine to have a rest at half an hour, forcing Masika “Jerry” to come on as his substitute.

Five minutes after coming on, Jerry had no time to settle; flying high to connect from Chris Situma’s forceful cross from the right flank but the ball walked past the post.

The attack was then accompanied by another move from Mathew ‘Arocho’ Andera, who pounced on a loose ball in the box to shoot home, hitting the post and back to the left side of the pitch for a disorganisation.

The Yellow Army piled more pressure on the ‘subless’ opponent and it gave birth to a second goal when skipper Caleb ‘Titi’ Kiplagat cheated the goalkeeper to come off his goal line only for the armband man to chip the ball into the empty net for a thunderous second goal.

Jerry kept on with his lethal strikes during the rest of the game and was just unlucky to miss the score sheet after the final whistle.

The 2-0 win now lifts Bungoma Superstars to 8th position on the table from 11th position with 19 points despite starting the season from the bottom of the table with a -6 points.

With their next fixture being against NSL hopefuls Luanda Villa this Sunday, Bungoma Superstars are proving to be a merciless side to face, having now gone seven games unbeaten, winning 4 and drawing thrice.
