Philanthropist businessman Ahmed Jibril has set out a challenge to summit Africa’s tallest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro.
In the event slated for 3rd August 2024, the charity man is on a mission to raise $ 125,000.00 an equivalent of Ksh. 16 millions to support 1,000 seniors in Isiolo and Kakamega counties with essential food supplies according to a press release .

Mr. Jibril who is the chairman of 748 Air services – a charter airline operating in passenger and cargo, is the founder of Mama Ibado Charity
Founded in 2011, Mama Ibado Charity, an independent non-profit, non-governmental organization advocates and supports senior citizens in accessing their basic human needs.
Registered in both Kenya and Canada, the organization currently supports 800 seniors.
In June 2020, Mr. Ahmed embarked on a 900KM bike ride to raise Ksh. 3 million (USD 30,000) towards a lunch program at Kakamega Township Primary School, a target that was surpassed by over Ksh. 1 milion.
“We surpassed our target for the month-long exercise to raise Sh4.4M (USD 43,933). This overwhelming support from our friends and the Kenyan community shows how much we value education for our children, especially the vulnerable,” said Jibril after the end of the campaign.
Ahmed’s charity organization has constructed 85 beautiful homes for seniors further stretching its support to Kakamega Township primary school where it has been running a feeding and sanitary pads program.
The Kilimanjaro challenge has so far raised $ 53,950.61 of the $ 125,000.00 the total amount of money target from this campaign that aims to support 1,000 seniors in both Isiolo and Kakamega.
