The Wepukhulu Foundation made a significant contribution to the triannual U15 Football Tournament held at the Mukhaweli Primary School Grounds on Sunday.

Foundation Patron Mr. Wycliffe Wepukhulu donated Ksh20,000, which was used to purchase trophies and other prizes for the young athletes.

The U15 Football Tournament, aimed at discovering and nurturing young football talent in Kanduyi, is a rare opportunity for youth in the region.

Unlike many other football events that predominantly feature adult players, this tournament focuses on providing a platform for younger players to showcase their skills.

This initiative aligns with the Wepukhulu Foundation’s mission to support and uplift the community of Kanduyi.

The Foundation has a history of promoting local talent, having previously organized a similar tournament in 2019.

The U15 tournament organizers are now planning another event this December, which will also aim to raise funds for educational materials for underprivileged children.

Participating teams in this year’s tournament included Chebukube U13, Bungoma All Stars U15 and Bungoma Young Stars U15, representing areas such as Mandizini, Musikoma, Mujini and Mashambani.

These teams competed fiercely, demonstrating the rich talent and passion for football among the youth in Kanduyi.

The Wepukhulu Foundation’s continued efforts in supporting youth sports and other community initiatives have garnered attention for their commitment to improving the lives of those in Kanduyi.

As they prepare for their next tournament, they remain dedicated to fostering talent and enhancing educational opportunities for the region’s young residents.
