A growing number of patients in Bungoma County have voiced concerns over the inconsistency of their health services coverage under insurance companies.

According to the patients, certain medical services that were previously covered are no longer accessible, with insurers citing non-payment of funds by the Bungoma County Government as the primary reason.

The issue has persisted for three months now, leaving many insured members frustrated and unable to access critical health services.

Vulnerable groups, including pregnant women seeking maternal care and patients suffering from chronic conditions like sickle cell anemia, are particularly at risk.

Despite the gravity of the situation, efforts to reach the County Department of Finance, which is responsible for ensuring timely remittance and harmonization of funds to insurance companies, have been unsuccessful.

The lack of commitment from the county authorities to address and resolve these inconsistencies has left many residents in a precarious position, raising concerns about the effectiveness of the health insurance system in the county.
