The Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, concluded a landmark event that has shaken the foundations of the Korean Christian community.
The Shincheonji Word Seminar: Testimony on the Fulfillment of Revelation, held on November 23 at the Shincheonji Peace Training Center in Cheongpyeong, Gyeonggi Province, drew over 200 pastors from various denominations. The seminar featured a striking lecture by 93-year-old Chairman Lee Man-hee, who claimed to offer concrete evidence of the fulfillment of the Book of Revelation.
A Witness to Fulfillment
Chairman Lee opened his address by asserting that the long-awaited fulfillment of Revelation is happening now, stating, “For 2,000 years, no one has provided concrete evidence of Revelation’s fulfillment. Only those who have seen and heard can testify to it.” He declared himself a direct witness to these events and emphasized his role as a messenger chosen by Jesus to deliver the Word.
Backed by detailed comparisons of biblical prophecy and real-world events, Lee presented what he called undeniable evidence of Revelation’s fulfillment.
“This is not abstract interpretation,” he said. “The Bible’s prophecies have been realized, and I am here to testify to that reality.” His confidence and openness to scrutiny—he invited attendees to challenge his claims if they found errors—left the audience stunned.
A Call for Authentic Faith
Urging a departure from “superficial faith,” Chairman Lee called on pastors to embrace a faith grounded in Scripture.
“We must set aside personal judgments and believe in God based on the Bible,” he said. “If we fail to recognize the reality of prophecy, we are no different from the blind and the deaf.”
He warned against altering Scripture, citing Revelation’s admonition against adding to or subtracting from its words, and urged attendees to repent and align with God’s plan.
Pastors Praise the Seminar’s Impact
Many pastors expressed profound admiration for the seminar, describing it as a transformative experience. Pastor Kim Yong-ho of the Presbyterian Church shared, “Chairman Lee’s message moves me deeply. It makes me reflect on my role as a pastor and the need to grow in my understanding of God’s Word.”
Another pastor highlighted the unifying potential of Lee’s teachings, saying, “This approach could reduce conflicts among clergy and is desperately needed in South Korea’s Christian community.”
The seminar also shed light on longstanding challenges in interpreting the Book of Revelation. One pastor admitted, “I used to view Revelation abstractly, but for the first time, I have seen its prophecies fulfilled in reality. This teaching is a game-changer for the Korean Christian community.”
A New Direction for Faith in Korea?
Representatives of the Shincheonji Church emphasized that the seminar was more than a lecture. “It provided concrete evidence of Revelation’s fulfillment, offering clarity on a subject often misunderstood,” they said. The event is being hailed as a turning point, potentially setting a new standard for understanding the Bible and deepening faith across denominations.
As the debate over Chairman Lee’s testimony continues, the Korean Christian community faces a pivotal question: Is this the beginning of a new era of faith, or will skepticism prevail? For many who attended, one thing is clear—Shincheonji Church of Jesus is challenging the status quo and making its mark on modern Christianity.
