Kanduyi parliamentary aspirant Wycliffe Wesley Wepukhulu on Thursday fulfilled his pledge of delivering 40 bags of cement to Ndengelwa Primary School.
Though his representives, Mr. Wepukhulu gave the cash amount of Ksh36,000 to help in purchasing the pledged 40 bags of cement for the school.
This is after a section of the school classrooms was ruled out for safety reasons, forcing the learners to attend their lessons under trees.
Speaking during the event, Mr. Wepukhulu’s Personal Assistant, Simiyu Wakajuaness, stated that the aspirant was not supporting the school for political reasons but because he is an alumni of the school.
“Honourable Wepukhulu is an alumni of Ndengelwa Primary School and therefore, it was paramount for him to give back to where he came from, and is encouraging other well-wishers to chip in and stabilize the school,” he said
The assistant also added that the aspirant, who is a neighbor to the school, remains committed to fulfilling all his pledges that he has made to the people of Kanduyi, thanking the parents of Ndengelwa Primary School for initiating the project..
“There are projects that Mr. Wepukhulu has started and he remains committed to completing them. This one was just part of the list. He also appreciates the role our parents have played in starting this project.”
The school’s Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) Chairman Edwin Marumbu also thanked Mr. Wepukhulu for the wonderful gesture, urging parents and the community to support his 2027 bid.
Mr. Wepukhulu has widely been tipped to become the next Kanduyi MP come 2027, with his popularity gaining ground, with political analysts stating that he brings new energy and socio-economic empowerment ideas that past leaders had failed to activate.
