Officials from the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Bungoma branch have expressed optimism following a two-day induction workshop held at the County Green Hotel in Kanduyi.
The capacity-building event, which concluded today, was lauded for equipping the officials with essential skills to enhance teamwork and elevate football administration in the region.
Speaking to the media, Ms. Jacinta Machasio, the branch’s Woman Representative, described the induction as an eye-opening experience, particularly as it was her first time participating in such an event.
“Everyone now understands their role, and this will boost our working spirits,” she said, expressing her renewed commitment to serving the people of Bungoma.
Coach Aaron Wafula echoed her sentiments, noting that the workshop has instilled hope among football fans and stakeholders in the county. Branch Chairman Eng. Denis Simiyu shared similar optimism, emphasizing the event’s potential to transform football management in Bungoma.

The workshop also addressed pressing challenges, particularly football hooliganism. Mr. Simon Sunguti, Chairman of the Leagues and Competition Committee, admitted that hooliganism has been a recurring issue but expressed confidence in applying the knowledge gained to tackle it more effectively.
“We will now use the insights acquired here to handle things better and more professionally,” Sunguti stated.
Finance Committee member Maureen Situma highlighted the workshop’s focus on financial management, noting that it provided valuable tips on maintaining transparency and discipline in financial records. “I have been equipped with tools to improve our financial organization going forward,” she said.
The induction marks a significant step toward strengthening football governance in Bungoma, with officials now better positioned to foster growth and professionalism in the sport. Stakeholders are hopeful that the skills acquired will translate into tangible improvements for the county’s vibrant football community.
