In a moment of triumph for Bungoma County, Nabi Kibunguchy, the son of Bungoma County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Eng. Herbert Kibunguchy, has earned his debut call-up to the Harambee Stars’ provisional squad.
The surprise inclusion of the 25-year-old defender and medical doctor by profession, was revealed ahead of the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Gabon and Seychelles.

Hailing from Webuye West Constituency near the Webuye Weighbridge, Kibunguchy’s call-up is not only a testament to his individual skill but also a source of immense pride for his family and relatives.
The US-born Nabi, who also showcases his versatility by occasionally playing as a midfielder for the MLS Pro side Orlando City B FC, is the grandson to Mama Dina, to whom the famous Dina Junction (now the Webuye Flyover) was named after.
CECM Kibunguchy is the last born child to Mama Dina, who comes from Miendo village where the Webuye West MP Dan Wanyama also originates from.
Eng. Herbert Kibunguchy, who is said to own Radio Mambo FM, serves as the County Executive in charge of Water, Environment and Natural Resources in Governor Kenneth Lusaka’s government.
Kibunguchy must be proud at his son’s achievement, highlighting the dual success within the family—one in the administrative realm and the other on the football field as well as in the health facilities in the USA.
