Bungoma Superstars put on an impressive display as they secured a crucial away victory, defeating Nyota FC 3-1 at Mumias Complex Stadium in the FKF Division One Zone B League.

The match showcased some brilliant individual performances and thrilling moments that left the fans on the edge of their seats.

The game started with both teams displaying their intent to dominate proceedings. However, it was Bungoma Superstars who drew first blood in the 18th minute through their talented forward, Daniel ‘Dada’ Juma.

With his deceptive movement, Juma cheated the bewildered Nyota defence and unleashed a powerful strike that found the back of the net, giving the visitors an early lead.

Not long after, the young starlet, Bruce Fwaro, came close to extending Bungoma’s advantage. Fwaro, who had been threatening the Nyota goal throughout the first half, unleashed a shot from inside the box, only to see it punched away by the opposing goalkeeper.

Bungoma Superstars continued to apply pressure on Nyota’s defence, and their captain, Caleb ‘Titi’ Kiplagat, showcased his skill and vision by tearing through the opposition’s defensive line. However, his left-footed shot narrowly missed the target, denying him a chance to extend his team’s lead.

In the 32nd minute, Bungoma Superstars were awarded a penalty when Mathew ‘Arocho’ Andera was brought down inside the box. However, Titi’s spot-kick was brilliantly saved by the Nyota goalkeeper, keeping his side in the match.

As the first half drew to a close, Bungoma Superstars emerged as the superior team, but their slender advantage left the game finely poised.

The second half began with Bungoma Superstars determined to build on their first-half dominance. Their perseverance paid off in the 50th minute when Bruce Fwaro made his mark on the match.

Taking advantage of a terrible error by the Nyota goalkeeper, who had previously trained with Bungoma Superstars, Dada Juma skillfully rounded the ball and set it up for Fwaro to slot home, doubling the visitors’ lead.

Not content with just one goal, Dada Juma continued to torment the Nyota defence. In the 64th minute, he exhibited his dribbling prowess, leaving defenders in his wake before firing a powerful shot into the net, completing his brace and extending Bungoma’s lead to three.

Despite the significant deficit, Nyota FC was awarded a penalty in the 70th minute, providing them with a glimmer of hope. However, Bungoma Superstars’ goalkeeper, Brian Marani, came to the rescue, making a crucial save to deny Nyota the opportunity to reduce the deficit.

With just three minutes left on the clock, Nyota finally managed to breach Bungoma’s defence as Meshack Karani found the back of the net. However, it was too little, too late for the home side as Bungoma Superstars held on to claim a well-deserved victory.

The win was particularly sweet for Bungoma Superstars, considering that they had suffered a 1-0 defeat in the first leg against Nyota FC at Bungoma High School Grounds. This victory showcased the team’s resilience and determination to bounce back.

Bungoma Superstars entered this match in excellent form, having lost only one game in their last 13 outings. They had recently secured a convincing 3-0 victory at home against Vegpro FC from Naivasha.

Looking ahead, Bungoma Superstars will now shift their focus to the upcoming fixture against Zoo Kericho FC, which will be played away in Kerocho County.
