Football Kenya Federation (FKF) marked a momentous occasion on August 31, 2023, as it announced Azam Media Limited as the official broadcast partner for the FKF Premier League.

The partnership, slated to span seven years, promises to inject new vigor into Kenyan football.

The multi-million-dollar deal, valued at USD 1 Million for its inaugural season, is poised to escalate by 10% in subsequent seasons.

This financial commitment signifies a significant boost for Kenyan football, heralding a period of renewed investment and enthusiasm.

Azam Media’s role as a broadcast partner extends beyond mere transmission. The company is set to broadcast four matches in each round on both its Pay TV and Digital platforms, ensuring widespread access for fans.

The Chief Operating Officer of Azam Media LTD, Yahya Mohamed, emphasized the company’s dedication to providing unprecedented viewing experiences across Kenya and the broader region.

In his statement, Mr. Yahya Mohamed remarked, “Through this partnership, we are not just broadcasting matches, we are sharing stories of dedication and belief in Kenyan football.”

This sentiment underscores the broader impact of the collaboration, transcending entertainment to inspire generations and unite communities.

FKF President Nick Mwendwa echoed these sentiments, expressing gratitude for Azam Media’s commitment to league development and Kenyan football overall.

Mwendwa, who was responsible for the unfortunate withdraw of yet another broadcaster, SuperSport whe he took the helm of the Kenyan football, praised the partnership’s potential to enhance the league’s visibility and competitiveness, marking a pivotal step forward in elevating the stature of Kenyan football on the global stage.

Highlighting their shared aspirations, Mwendwa affirmed, “As a Federation, we remain committed to the wholesome development of Kenyan football and as such, we shall continue seeking partnerships with like-minded companies with a view of increasing the commercial value of the league.”

Azam Media LTD’s extensive presence in the media landscape positions them as a prominent player in the partnership. Operating across Direct to Home (DTH), Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) and Over the Top (OTT) platforms, the company’s dedication to Kenyan football is manifest in the dedicated channel, Azam Sports 4 HD, exclusively catering to football content.

As the inaugural season of this groundbreaking partnership approaches, fans, players, and stakeholders eagerly anticipate the ripple effects that this collaboration could bring.

With increased investment, visibility and engagement, Kenyan football is poised to embark on an exciting new trajectory, powered by the synergy between FKF and Azam Media Limited.
