In an exhilarating football match held on Wednesday at the Bungoma High School Grounds, Bungoma Superstars FC showcased their dominance and claimed a resounding victory over Vegpro FC with a convincing 3-0 scoreline.

The home side demonstrated their attacking prowess and defensive solidity, leaving the visiting team struggling to find a foothold in the game.

Right from the start, Bungoma Superstars took control of the match, displaying their intent to secure a comprehensive victory.

The breakthrough came in the 16th minute when the team’s captain, Caleb ‘Titi’ Kiplagat, calmly converted a penalty kick.

The opportunity arose when Daniel ‘Dada’ Juma was brought down inside the box, and Kiplagat made no mistake in slotting the ball into the back of the net. This marked Kiplagat’s sixth goal of the season and set the tone for an impressive performance by the home side.

As the match progressed, Bungoma Superstars continued to apply pressure on Vegpro FC, seeking to extend their advantage. In the 75th minute, Mathews ‘Arocho’ Andera showcased his aerial ability by meeting Ezekiel Simiyu’s perfectly timed corner.

Andera directed the ball into the net with a powerful header, doubling the lead for the home side. The Bungoma High School Grounds erupted with joy as the home fans celebrated their team’s dominant display in what was the team’s last home match before the season ends.

Despite Vegpro FC’s best efforts to mount a comeback, Bungoma Superstars’ defense held firm, denying the visitors any significant goal-scoring opportunities.

With only a minute remaining to stoppage time, Vegpro FC thought they had managed to clear youngster Bruce Fwaro’s strike. However, Christopher Situma pounced on the cleared ball from 24 yards out and unleashed a ferocious thunderbolt into the far net.

Situma’s stunning strike sealed the victory for Bungoma Superstars, sending the home crowd into rapturous celebration in the the sunny afternoon.

This impressive win propels the revamped Bungoma Superstars to the 7th position in the FKF Division One Zone B League standings, amassing a total of 27 points. Vegpro FC, on the other hand, finds themselves in the 6th position with 31 points.

Bungoma Superstars’ performance against Vegpro FC is particularly commendable as they managed to secure a double victory over their opponents. In the first leg encounter away in Naivasha, Bungoma Superstars had come from a goal down and triumphed with a commanding 4-1.

The players, coaching staff, and fans of Bungoma Superstars FC have every reason to celebrate after this emphatic victory. The team’s cohesion, skill, and determination were on full display, leaving Vegpro FC with no answers.

As the league season progresses, Bungoma Superstars will aim to build upon this success and continue their ascent up the standings, while Vegpro FC will look to bounce back from this defeat and regain their momentum in the competition.

Bungoma Superstars, however, have a huge task as all their remaining four matches of the season are away.

They tavel to Nyota FC in Mumias Complex before meeting Zoo Kerocho and two other trips to Nakuru against GDC and St Joseph’s respectively.
