Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has called on human rights activists against politicizing issues in the Ministry of Health.
Lusaka said that health is a critical ministry which should not be interfered as it deals with lives.
“It is wrong to over politicize the ministry which deals with lives, this is a critical department and should be guarded by all means”, he said.
Speaking during the inauguration of the County Hospital Boards at the County Headquarters on Thursday, the County Boss urged the Health Department to conduct its operations in a more professional way.
“Governance in Health facilities is key to its success and as such, the board plays an integral part in the growth of the ministry”, he observed.
He further urged the board to discharge their mandate through oversight to enhance the quality of healthcare service provision.
“Maintaining and improving the quality and safety of patient care in those health facilities falls under clinical governance that must be enhanced by you, the board,” he reiterated.

The inaugated board members are pegged on a three year contract renewable on performance.
“As per the Bungoma Health Act 2019 the term of office for the members appointed shall be three years renewable once”, he assured.
