Residents of Kakamega County have been encouraged to utilise the toll-free call centre number 0800 724 388 to access county services and report concerns on service delivery across all departments.
During the launch of the Epanja Community-Based Organisation (CBO) in Mumias East, Governor Fernandes Barasa, through his Chief Officer for Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), Mr Suleiman Wanekeya, called on residents of Mumias East and the wider Kakamega County to make full use of the recently launched toll-free call centre, an initiative by Governor Fernandes Barasa.

Mr Wanekeya emphasised that the call centre offers a direct channel for residents to seek information, raise questions, and track progress on service delivery, aligning with the Governor’s Six-Point Development Agenda to enhance efficiency, transparency, and citizen participation.

He also encouraged Epanja CBO members and other community groups to apply for the Governor’s KSh 50,000 non-refundable social protection grant, available to registered community-based organisations under the wealth creation pillar of the county’s development plan.
The event further highlighted other key initiatives, including free Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) and polytechnic training, as well as the upcoming Kazi Mashinani youth employment programme, scheduled to begin in January 2026.

The launch was attended by county and national social protection officers, who reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering grassroots communities and improving local service delivery.
