Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has survived yet another attempt to remove her from office by impeachment after the Senate found all charges facing her unsubstantiated.
The County Assembly of Meru, with 59 MCAs, had passed a motion to impeach Mwangaza for the second time in less than a year but their efforts were not enough to send her home.
In a ruling made by Senate Speaker Amason Kingi after the electronic voting by Senator’s on each of the seven charges leveled against her, Mrs Mwangaza was given a greenlight to continue serving the people of Meru.
