Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has survived yet another attempt to remove her from office by impeachment after the Senate found all charges facing her unsubstantiated.

The County Assembly of Meru, with 59 MCAs, had passed a motion to impeach Mwangaza for the second time in less than a year but their efforts were not enough to send her home.

In a ruling made by Senate Speaker Amason Kingi after the electronic voting by Senator’s on each of the seven charges leveled against her, Mrs Mwangaza was given a greenlight to continue serving the people of Meru.

Breaking into heavy tears, Mwangaza was visibly unable to control her emotions, in a show of humility following the terrible tribulations she has gone through.

Here is how the Senators voted on each charge:

Abstained – 0 votes
No – 28 votes (59.57%)

CHARGE 2: Nepotism and related unethical practices.
Yes – 5 votes
Abstained – 0 votes
No – 42 votes

CHARGE 3: Bullying and Demeaning other Leaders.

Yes – 3 votes
Abstained – 0
No – 44 votes

CHARGE 4: Illegal Appointments

Yes -20 votes
Abstained -0
No – 26 votes

CHARGE NO. 5: Contempt of Court

No – 44 votes.

CHARGE 6: Illegal Naming of a Road after her Husband
