Linus is privileged to be among the 700 young African Leaders attending the prestigious 2023 Mandela Washington Fellowship Summit in Washington DC on 1st and 2nd of August.
During this summit, Ikochel will be meeting top US government officials, business people and Non-profit Organizations for networking and sharing experiences
Nurturing Leadership from an Early Age
Linus Ikochel’s journey towards leadership began in the hallowed halls of his primary school, Lumakanda D.E.B, and Munyuki Primary schools. It was here that he first exhibited qualities that would mark him as a natural leader.
As he transitioned to high school at Kivaywa Boys and later Munyuki High School, his passion for leadership blossomed as he served in various roles within the student governing council throughout his entire high school journey.
As he pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Education Arts with Guiding & Counseling at Kibabii University, Linus had an epiphany: he realized that his purpose in life was to empower and uplift others through his leadership. With this newfound clarity, he set out on a mission to create lasting change in his community and beyond.

Empowering Youth through Guidance and Counseling:
Linus took up the challenge of establishing and strengthening the guidance and counseling department at Butiel High School, recognizing the crucial role it plays in nurturing the holistic development of young minds.
Founding CLIN Legacy Organization:
As the Founder and Director of CLIN Legacy Organization, Linus has established a platform to promote leadership, mentorship, and community development.
Through this initiative, he has touched the lives of countless individuals, inspiring them to dream big and reach their fullest potential.

YALI and Mandela Washington Fellowship:
Linus’s pursuit of excellence led him to be recognized as an alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Regional Leadership Center East Africa (RLC EA) and the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship (MWF) in 2023.
He is the immediate national Chairman of of YALI and he couldn’t defend his seat after the expiry of his two-year term in May as he was preparing for his flight to the United states.
These experiences provided him with a transformative platform to hone his leadership skills and collaborate with fellow change-makers from across the continent.
He is currently in the US on a three-month programme where he is engaged in various mentorship activities.
International Speaker and Mentor:
Linus has not confined his efforts to the borders of Kenya. He has traveled to 12 different countries, speaking in 26 schools, and motivating young minds to embrace leadership and contribute positively to their communities. As a mentor, he has guided 41 mentees, nurturing the next generation of leaders.
Championing Environmental Conservation:
Demonstrating his commitment to environmental sustainability, Linus embarked on a mission to tackle the pressing issue of plastic pollution.
Through his efforts, he collected a staggering 3000kgs of plastic waste for recycling, playing a part in the global movement to #EndPlasticPollution.
Civic Engagement Expert:
Linus enhanced his leadership acumen further by graduating from K-State University in the USA as a Leadership Expert in Civic Engagement, solidifying his expertise in driving community involvement and change.
