Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi has condemned an afternoon attack on his vehicle near Cooperative Bank in Bungoma town.

Through his aid, the DAP-K party leader has accused his competitor, Mr. John Makali of Ford Kenya, for unleashing terror to a section of his campaign strategists who were moving around delivering introduction letters to his agents.

Mr. Wamunyinyi’s Range Rover was reportedly intercepted by two vehicles linked to Mr. Makali’s campaign team after some long trail that ended ugly.

The incident happened at the entrance of Supreme Lounge near Cooperative Bank in Bungoma town.

According to Mr. Abraham, who was in Wamunyinyi’s car, they were intercepted by the two vehicles where three unknown attackers came out and started demolishing the windshield and the window panes.

“Three people came out of the two vehicles, one a Landrover Discovery and another one a Suzuki, then started attacking our vehicle,” said Mr. Abraham.

The incident caused a panic and tension in town with passersby scampering for their safety.

Wamunyinyi said his campaign unit were only delivering introduction letters to their agents and that it was uncalled for for the competitor to disrupt an otherwise peaceful process that the two camps have enjoyed.

“We are now calling upon Mr. Makali and his team to avoid causing chaos and embrace peace”

The incident has been reported to Bungoma police station under OB 35/9/8/22 at 1432hrs.
