The County Assembly of Bungoma battalion of sports enthusiasts in Kisumu County for the EALASCA games are in high spirits to bring glory back to Bungoma.
The East Africa Local Authorities Cultural Association (EALASCA) games, currently unfolding in Kisumu County, have seen vibrant representation from all corners of the country, with the County Assembly of Bungoma tipped to shine.
Commencing on January 25th and extending to February 2nd, 2024, the EALASCA Games have united participants from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda.
The competitions cover a diverse range of sports, including soccer, netball, legball, tug of war, cultural dance, folk song, choir, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, among others.
The official opening ceremony, hosted at Jomo Kenyatta Sports Grounds, was presided over by Dr. Mathew Ochieng Owili, the Deputy Governor of Kisumu County.

The overarching goal of the games is to foster unity and peaceful coexistence among East African nations through shared sporting endeavors.
Representing the County Assembly of Bungoma is the victorious Cultural Dance team, which triumphed at the CASA games in Nakuru last August.
Additionally, standout players from the exceptional Volleyball teams, both men and women, have been selected to join forces with representatives from other County Assemblies to form Team Kenya.
Among the County Assembly players showcasing their prowess in various disciplines are Hon. Dorcas Ndasaba (Volleyball ladies), a former member of the National Volleyball team. Other remarkable players include Ms. Karen Wanyama and Ms. Knight Ngano in the women’s volleyball team.
Hon. White Wafula and Mr. Anthony Mulati contribute to the men’s volleyball team, while Hon. Everlyne Mutiembu, Hon. Metrine Nangalama and Millia Masungo shine in the netball team.

Mr. Phillip Sinoya excels in the Scrabble team, with Ms. Angela Ngava showcasing her skills in the Darts team.
Leading the County Assembly of Bungoma delegation at the EALASCA games is Mr. Oscar Namusasi, emphasizing the importance of the games for networking and building partnerships.
The dedicated participation reflects the assembly’s commitment to both cultural and sporting excellence on the regional stage.
