The Chebosi Football Club emerged victorious in stunning fashion, claiming the championship title at the prestigious Tony Wakhungu Memorial Tournament, held amidst grandeur at the Chebosi High School Grounds in Bololi Ward.
In a resounding display of dominance, Chebosi FC dismantled favorites Mahanga FC with a commanding 3-0 victory in regular time, securing the highly coveted tournament, generously sponsored by Eng. Brian Anyanza, Family and Friends.
This tournament, drawing participation from 16 teams, held a poignant significance in commemorating the memory of Mr. Anyanza’s late brother, Branton Wakhungu, tragically lost during the heinous Garissa terrorist attack in 2015, an event that shook the world with the loss of over 219 students.

Eng. Anyanza ensured equitable rewards for all teams, with Chebosi FC claiming the winner’s prize of Ksh35,000, while the valiant runners-up, Mahanga FC, received Ksh25,000. Milani, securing a remarkable third place by overpowering Juakali FC with a compelling 5-0 victory, walked away with Ksh15,000, leaving their opponents with a consolation of Ksh10,000.
The thrilling finals, held on Friday, December 22nd, 2023, not only witnessed an exhilarating clash of football prowess but also marked a record-breaking event in Bokoli Ward, Webuye East Constituency, boasting the highest prize money seen in the region.

Bungoma Superstars Football Club team manager Edwin Simiyu, was also in the house and announced having an interest in a number of players who could join the FKF Division One League side.
