Comedian Tiny Mutali aka Choffuri has hit the headlines for rallying prominent politicians from Bungoma to save the life of a stranded content creator.

Choffuri started an online campaign to save the life of actress Lindah Nasambu, 27, who has been battling mental health since flying to Dubai for an unspecified job.

According to Choffuri, Kenyans working in Dubai reached out to him to intervene after spotting Ms Lindah in the streets of Dubai, and recognized her as one of Choffuri’s former actresses.

Choffuri took swift action and alerted her family back home in Webuye, Kenya, but the family had little to do, prompting the comedian to start an online fund drive to bring Lindah back home.

His efforts brought fruits, raising Ksh60,000 which was partly used to facilitate Lindah’s return.

Among leaders who responded to Choffuri’s call include Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa, Bungoma County Woman Rep Catherine Wambilianga and Ambassador Kenneth Nganga.

Choffuri states that while Mr. Barasa facilitated Nasambu’s air travel from Dubai back to Kenya, Mama Catherine Wambilianga took care of her medical intervention where she is currently under close monitoring by medical professionals in Webuye.

“I thank Hon. Didmus Barasa and Mayi Catherine Wambilianga for coming through to see our daughter back home and safe,” Choffuri told WakajuanessLive.Com in a telephone interview.

“Mama County Hon. Catherine Wambilianga, the Bungoma County Woman MP, kept her word by fulfilling her promise and took Linda to a rehabilitation center for treatment and care,” he posted on his Facebook page.

“To the online WhatsApp team, your contributions totaled Ksh60,701. We sincerely thank you all. Part of the funds has already been used for essential needs, and the small remaining amount is with the family to support Linda’s ongoing care.”

Wambilianga posted: “We’ve met with our girl, Linda Nasambu! A special thank you goes to Choffuri, whose timely intervention and helpful ideas made this possible. Following our plan, we have processed her medical report, and she is now safely in our care and receiving assistance,” read the post on the legislator’s Facebook page.

While thanking everyone who supported Linda’s return on Saturday, Choffuri has urged members of the public to avoid politicizing needy cases, saying that such drives require collective efforts irregardless of political affiliations.

Choffuri is a celebrated luhya comedian who relays his comedy in Bukusu vernacular language and has gained massive following on his social media accounts from his fans.

He has also nurtured several artists including Sokoto, Nekesa Khalayi, Wamocha as well as Lindah.

Causes of Lindah’s mental health challenges remain scanty even as she starts her 6-month rehabilitation journey at a private facility in Webuye.
