The Salama Super Cup is more than just a sporting event — it is a heartfelt charity tournament held annually every December to honor the memory of the late Hamado, a former Director of Salama Western Toast Ltd, who passed away in December 2019 after a short illness.
Organized as a tribute to his legacy, the tournament serves as a meaningful gesture from Salama Western Toast Ltd— producers of the popular 55-year-old Salama Western Toast bread brand — to give back to the Bungoma community that has supported the bakery for decades.
Tournament coordinator Kennedy Opatta emphasized the event’s dual purpose: “The tournament is a charity activity to remember Hamado while allowing Salama Bakery to contribute positively to the community that has trusted our brand for years.”
