Kenyan Military band Maroon Commandos is set to perform at Zuri Resort in Bungoma town.
The celebrated band, which marked their 52nd anniversary on October 1, 2022, has confirmed that they will perform at Zuri Resort (formely Twin Peaks alonng Webuye-Malaba Highway) in Kanduyi on Sunday 30th October, 2022, from evening.
According to a promo video released by the band while aboard their military band vehicle en route to Western Kenya from their Lang’ata Barrackd, the team urged fans to turn up in large numbers and enjoy their favourite Rhumba music.
An event promoter who is hosting the band has told this publication that Maroon Commandos have touched group in Mumias where they are set to perform at a family event on Saturday before jetting to Bungoma on Sunday morning.
“I have just on my way to receive them in Mumias,” said a lady identified as Maureen.
Earlier own, there was a small miscommunication on whether the band would be performing at Zuri or somewhere else but evidence right now shows performing at Zuri is a done deal.
Zuri Director and political analyst Mr. Wafula Buke has also confirmed that the band will perform at Zuri on Sunday, urging fans to turn up in large numbers on the historical day.
7 Kenya Rifle (7KR)-based Maroon Commandos Band is one of the most respected and decorated musical outfit in Kenya.
Maroon Commandos Band was formed in October 1st 1970 at Gilgil Barracks under the first CO 7KR Lt. Col. J.M.M Wambua alias Nyeusi.
During that period the band played cover versions, popular Classic music, Soul Rhythms, Blues and Lingala, Rhumba, Coastal, Old Skul & Twist.
