Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka has taken a swipe at the Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati’s development projects, terming them ‘copy-pastes’ from his previous regime.

Speaking on West FM’s Crossfire political talk show on Sunday 10th of April, 2022, Mr. Lusaka stated that most of Wangamati’s flagship projects were initiated under his regime and that Wangamati has nothing spectacular to brag of.

“Sincerely speaking, is there any new thing that the current regime has done that I didn’t do?” Asked Lusaka.

The veteran administrator also mentioned Wangamati’s coveted spectacular projects like the Governor’s Scholarship Projects, the Dual Carriageway and the Brigadier Road, as an initiation of his brainstorming, saying Lusaka only copy-pasted from his ideas.

“The Dual Carriageway was our idea. The Scholarship Programme was our brainchild. The employment of ECD teachers was our world,” bragged Lusaka.

On the challenges that Lusaka has faced at the Senate, the former Provincial Commissioner accused the ‘deep state’ of trying to interfere with his job, saying his work was to follow the law and not to obey individuals.

“Sometimes, a few people expect you to do things the way they want just because you are in this position courtesy of their support but forget that at the end of it all the law has to be followed.”

Lusaka also defended his decision to vie under the Kenya Kwanza Alliance fronted by Deputy President William Ruto, saying he landed on the Ford Kenya ticket for his own political survival.

“I asked so many people and everyone was telling me that Bungoma is Kenya Kwanza and Ford Kenya strong hold.”

Lusaka also accused Governor, a Wangamati of neglecting his projects as well as victimising the casual workers employed under the Lusaka regime.

Lusaka is seeking to unseat his own 2013 Campaign Resource Mobilisation Chairman, Wycliffe Wangamati in the 2022 General Election.

Mr. Wangamati is seeking to defend his seat on the newly-launched Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) affiliated to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Azimio-One Kenya Alliance.
