Following reports that President Uhuru Kenyatta had ‘cancelled’ his purported meeting with Mt Kenya leaders, State House has now come out to clear the air.
In a statement sent to blogs and media houses, State House communication boss, Kanze Dena denied any reports linking the head of State with any failed meeting.
Through the State House Twitter handle, Dena said the reports circulating on social media are untrue and that the President has his own diary which is always shared to the public using approved channels.
“His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta’s attention has been drawn to misleading information circulating online on a purported meeting with Central Kenya elected leaders this week,” read part of the statement.
“The President did not convene nor postpone any such meeting. Therefore, the information is false and misleading.”

The statement continued: “Excellency President Kenyatta’s diary for the remainder of the week and the weekend ahead has several public engagements of which Kenyans will be duly informed through established platforms.”
Several sources had suggested that Uhuru failed to raise the quorum of desired leaders from the Mt Kenya community and therefore elected to postpone the meeting.
the Azzimia Chairman mistreated them for 4 years and eat alone. He never consulted them before his endosement of Raila, he now summons them to rubber-stamp Kenyatta family choice?
just like Moi in the rift, kenyatta's name has long expired in the hearts of kikuyu's.

This comes barely five days after a section of leaders from Mt Kenya endorsed Deputy President William Ruto for the big seat.
President Uhuru snubbed his Deputy and backed ODM leader Raila Odinga’s presidential bid under Azimio La Umoja coalition that consists of Jubilee, ODM, KANU, DAP-K and 20 other political parties.
Uhuru’s endorsed of Raila has caused jitters in the Ruto camp with the DP’s team being accused of running a series of propaganda that suggests Uhuru has lost control of his own Mt Kenya region to Uhuru.
