Sirisia politician Moses Nandalwe has urged COTU Secretary-General Francis Atwoli to endorse Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya as the Luhya Spokesperson.

In a joint media briefing held on Moday 27th December, 2021, the youthful ODM activist challenged the vocal trade unionist to revoke his endorsement of Musalia Mudavadi as the de facto leader of the politically-embattled Mulembe land and replace him with Mr. Oparanya.

The presser, which took place at the Bukhungu Stadum in Kakamega County, was aimed at briefing Kenyans on the planned political rally conveyed by Mr. Atwoli. Dubbed the Atwoli Declaration, the rally is expected to give direction to the Luhya land on who to endorse in the next year’s presidential election.

“Just as you did here some years ago when you endorsed Musalia Mudavadi as the Luhya Spokeman at this same venue, just as we did here during the BBI endorsement, so should you do the same by endorsing Oparanya as our Spokesman,” said Nandalwe.

The Sirisia parliamentary aspirant also warned Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala against blocking the December 31st rally, suggesing that his efforts will be met with the same forcce.”

“If Mr. Malala is man enough, let him come over and do whatever he is planning.”

The sheduled rally has generated mixed reactionsin the Luhya nation with Malala terming the COTU boss as a political broker who is out to mislead the Luhyas.

“We will block Bukhungu stadium and there will be no rally. We cannot allow political brokers to mascarade around as king makers,”said Malala in a raw clip circulating online that has landed him in trouble with the National Cohesion and Integrity Commission (NCIC).

Nandalwe also took theopportunity to mock the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) led by Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC boss Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula, saying they have no where to go.

“As we speak, 2022 will be a two-horse race between former Prime Minister Raila Oding and Deputy President William Ruto. OKA should tell us whether they are joining Ruto or Raila instead of remaining desparate expecting us to stand behind them blindly,” added Nandalwe.
